REV. CHRIS OKOTIE REACTS TO PRESIDENTIAL MEDIA CHAT:

CORRUPTION: We have not seen any remarkable effort in this direction. If the president is tackling corruption ‘frontally’ as he claims, by now we should have seen many his profile convictions. Corruption is a great impediment to development; we certainly haven’t made progress in dealing with this monster. President Jonathan needs to brace up and muster the will required to take on the corrupt elements at all levels of government.

Boko Haram - The Boko Haram issue is very complex. It is obvious that a military solution in the shape of the present government strategy of containment hasn’t worked. And because the group is faceless, it is difficult to determine who to talk to. So far, the government has not shown that it is on top of the situation. So, the attacks continue; the problem lingers. The security situation, corruption and the rising unemployment are the clear evidences of failure of governance, pure and simple.
The paradigm has to shift
