A national carrier as been announced by the Nigerian Minister of State for Aviation, Hadi Sirika at the Farnborough International Airshow in the UK.
The Airline is called Nigeria Air "bringing Nigeria closer to the world". So far the government has received applause and appraisals for the long due innovation for a country has big as Nigeria.
The branding of what looks like a green ribbon but a closer look actually shows an eagle image embedded in the ribbon.
However, the Aviation union has frowned on the fact that the ministry is yet to offer a final severance package for the previous staffs and aides in the industry.
N:B Also note that, in the year 2005, Richard Branson established the airline Air Nigeria which operated in Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMA) but ceased operations in 2012. I personally hope that is not an infringement on the governments part. Air Nigeria - Nigeria Air
